Activities for World Thrombosis Day 2022 kicked off a little earlier than usual this year when we held our annual WTD Breakfast Day Walk on 13th September, during the Blood meeting. It was great to see THANZ members and Blood delegates turn up early in the morning for the pleasent walk to Piramma and Giba Parks, along the waterside, with views of the harbour and bridge.

Here’s how some of our members have been raising awareness of WTD in their hospitals
At the Austin Hospital, Vic, Trish has made a WTD trolley with a “guess the number of chocolates in the jar”, together with a QR code which takes the guesser to WTD website. The trolley can easily be moved to various places around the hospital- vascular, respiratory and haematology. It’s a great way to create conversations! One guess for one scan of the QR code.
The team at Northern Health has been busy promoting WTD
